Hello, I’m Marieke Guy and I am the new learning technologist at the Royal Agricultural University. I’ve now been in post for about a month and have enjoyed getting to know as many support staff, academics and students as possible.
Prior to joining RAU I spent two years at the Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education (QAA), two years at Open Knowledge International and 13 years at the University of Bath. I have a varied history researching, developing and working with digital technologies and data. You can read more about me on my website.
My role is one that spans across many areas, but at its core it considers how technology can be used to support and enhance learning and teaching. Over the next few months I will be identifying where there is existing good practice and where more support is needed.
Some of the other activities I will involved with include:
- Writing our Digital Strategy
- Implementing the myday portal
- Implementing Talis Aspire reading lists
- Running the Jisc Student digital experience tracker survey
- Supporting the curriculum review
- Encouraging use of the Jisc Digital capability discovery tool
There will be lots more on the blog about these activities over the next few months.
If you want to get in touch to share ideas about future digital opportunities for RAU then please do email: firstname.lastname@example.org
